2. Don’t fill the cylinder with too much oil at once—instead, follow the principle of adding small amounts repeatedly. It’s generally recommended to use either engine oil concentrate (available at gas stations) or silicone oil. The best way to lubricate is to apply these oils directly onto the piston head and the inner walls of the cylinder, using just a tiny amount each time—and lubricating once every month or so is sufficient.

If you find it too much trouble, simply use a discarded syringe or a small plastic bottle—similar to a "Kai Sailu" product—to inject oil directly into the inner wall of the outer tube of the pump and into the tiny hole beneath the handle. If you can’t get hold of specialized oil concentrate, you can substitute with air compressor lubricant or four-stroke engine oil instead. These are both liquid oils; you’ll need about 5 pumps of the pump to apply roughly 1–2 drops each time—just pour them in directly through the inner wall of the outer tube or the small opening under the handle.

This is because the air contains a significant amount of dust, which, when drawn into the pump, mixes with the oil and water vapor inside, forming a muddy buildup. Over time, this buildup can clog the tiny holes in the third-stage piston head or even block the air outlet on the pump body, leading to poor airflow—or, in severe cases, completely preventing the pump from working altogether.
